Ayyyy nice to see you are still making music! This is pretty nice, I don't have much else to say. It seems like it stays in the same place a little but the sound design and mixing are spot-on and the atmosphere it creates is nice.

OpenLight responds:

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it in general. I definitely do want to keep making music, so hopefully I find the time to get more songs finished soon!

This is hands-down an absolute fucking masterpiece.

There's something so mesmerizing about every little bit of this, you have an incredible sense of pacing and progression; each part not only feeds perfectly into the next, they each feel like they have their own bit of character, and as a result of that the work as a whole has such a traveler's journey personality.

The description only proves to me that you definitely achieved your artistic goal here. I really feel like you took me somewhere. Melodies start to function as leitmotifs when they are repeated; every time I heard a familiar melody I felt the same movement but in a new direction because of how it was used in that instance, and eventually by the end of it, you took me back home.

This is a beautiful piece with high-quality production and a captivating full-circle journey. It's the kind of song I would show to boomers to prove that electronic music is still fully capable of telling a story with soul and emotion. Thank you for putting time and effort into putting this together and sharing it with us so we can experience it.

I am soooo happy you uploaded this. A lot of people miss the kind of stuff Bossfight used to make, and since y'all worked together on this and your styles work together really well this exudes all of the energy that people have been missing lately. Seeing this title on Newgrounds made me feel like I had uncovered buried treasure lol, y'all were great back then and are still great to this day. <3

Nice track! It has a really nice atmosphere. Those drums are CHONKY though. In some cases that contributes to the power and depth of the track and in other cases they overpower the rest of the track in a way that feels like it's a bit TOO much. Aside from that, the melodies are fine, the mixing seems okay, and the transitions are cool.

Korsak responds:

Oh, thanks) i'll think about it)

Oooh this is nice! Definitely resembles the styles of the Sonic and Megaman franchises' OSTs, and does a damn good job at it too. Crisp mixing and clean design. Good luck with the contest!

endKmusic responds:

Yay!
Much thanks for the kind words!
Thanks for stopping by. :)

I don't really think there's anything I can say that Zelazon hasn't already. I like the idea of it, and it does feel like it has a way of moving the listener from a point A to a point B. However, the sounds seem at some points like they're fighting to be heard over the others. The little tapping in the background feels like it's an absolutely essential backbone to the track, since it would otherwise just be a banjo-y thing, but with it being the same sixteenth-note hammer all the way through with the slightly different tap on beats 2 and 4, it does feel like it could use a little more variation to really enforce that banjo-picker mojo. The quality of the sounds seems fine; I'm using cheap earbuds so I can't really judge that effectively. I of course can't evaluate the melody since it's a remake of another track, but the way that you shaped the atmosphere around it works really well.
Overall a pretty interesting take on another track; there are some aspects that detract from its overall unity but it still has value as a piece and the originality of it is noteworthy.

(P.S.: With how many people's songs you review, I'm not sure how you haven't been scouted yet. I figured you review enough audio on Newgrounds by this point that you probably find some unscouted artists that would make good audio portal members, so I went ahead and sent you a scout invitation.)

SI-7 responds:

I totally agree it could use a lot more variation. The instrument quality could definitely be better, I was only using free stuff. I kind of rushed this one after deleting what I originally had planned cause what I originally did sounded like a mess. As for why I'm not scouted, that's kind of confusing, because I got scouted by AlexMaden years ago. I got my audio scouting privileges taken away, though, I think because I'm a poor scout.

Thanks for the feedback. :)

This revitalized take on the song is so interesting. I can tell that it's Jumper, but it's also its own complete new thing. Not only does it prove your versatility in being able to portray the same song in two completely different ways, it reprises your progress as an artist who's gone from a spunky young chiptuner to a master of his craft. Albeit a little repetitive, that's something I would expect from a Jumper redux, and everything else makes up for it.

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really like the original Jumper all that much, but this most definitely leaves a lot more pleasant taste in my mouth (or..ears, I guess?), nice work. :)

Pretty damn good! A few minor hiccups in the percussion are my only nitpicks. I wish I wouldn't have taken this long to investigate your other stuff when I came across Saturn V; I love this one just as much. Nice work. ;)

woo, got a big-up from a huge geometry dash guy!!1
ok, for real though - thank you so much, that means a lot.
have a great day!

Damn, this is pretty good! It's a crime how little-known you are. Though this has a few minor hiccups in pacing, it's overall very impressive. I'm not quite sure why you haven't been scouted for the Audio Portal yet but I can fix that. :)

Good work! Albeit a little repetitious, it's perfect for a video game. The sounds blend well together though it feels a little too wobbly going back and forth at some points. I kinda want to investigate Purpose as a whole just because of this. Any way I can follow its development? :)

Rukyyy responds:

Awwdang, I apologize for responding so late to this!

As of right now, Purpose really does not have any like, format to follow. There is a rough storyboard written and all of the music has been written accordingly, but there is hardly anything beyond that.

I make silly EDM as SirHadoken, and more serious indie singer/songwriter music as DeFord.
I also help other musicians with the Geometry Dash whitelisting process.
