I agree with courtstar. Listening to this makes me feel good.
There's a part at around 2:16 where the snare is odd, but it's not too noticeable. There's a little bit of repetition, but that's totally fine, of course. The mixing, mastering, and sound production are marvelous. Excellent work. :)

RC75 responds:

Thanks! I will check out the snare and see what's up with it for when I release it on SoundCloud and YouTube (don't forget to subscribe if you'd like!). After all, this is pretty much what I'll be using NG for, which is just getting initial feedback and releasing the final version elsewhere (only exception would be a GD song). Anyways, I'm glad you thought I did a good job on it! I'll try to cut down some repetition on the future when I'm comfortable with housey stuff. Which may even include a vocalist to change things up (I could maybe even use one on this song at some point). Well, thanks again for reviewing! Now that it's summer I can work on our collab more, except this upcoming week. Sorry it's not done yet!

ps: from the time you wrote the review to the time I'm writing this, I've gone up a year in age, so now I guess we're both 15!

IDK why I made this response so long. Just got carried away I guess.

This is really nice! I like the side chaining you've done in certain spots, as it really does add to the value of the song entirely. However, I feel like that first drop could've used a bit more strength. That can easily be achieved with a kick drum, even if you don't make it very loud. There's a bit of repetition in it, but I'm not very well educated in this genre, so I don't know how expected it is for melodic variation. The chords all blend together well, and the progression is nice, especially for the kind of song you were going for. It uses the same hi-hat or cymbal throughout the whole thing, and I feel it would be a good idea to experiment and try using different hi-hats. The same structure is carried out through the song, and while that's a good thing in terms of consistency, it's okay to deviate from it a little bit, and I know Progressive House is a weird genre for that, but it's worth trying.
Overall, this is great evidence that you're definitely becoming proficient at creating music, and the blending of the sounds fits incredibly well. I'm especially impressed by the percussion things you did before the drops, as it's a major improvement from the percussion in our collaboration. You're definitely on the right track. The only thing I suggest is changing it up a little bit. If you can do that effectively, you've got yourself a masterpiece! :)

(Also, this is not meant to be a mean or harsh review; only a sidenote to let you know where you stand, in my opinion, on the path to success. Improvement is a step away, and whether it's a leap of faith or a baby step, it's worth it in the long run! :) )

RC75 responds:

Thanks for reviewing! I do think that this is a bit repetitive; because I wanted this first try to be more simple so I could grasp exactly what I was trying to do. Made it easier imo. I will do more variation in future releases. The repetition was somewhat intended because I find it hard to make this genre while changing up the melodies often. As far as the kick goes, I did have a kick in there, but it may be hard to hear without headphones (assuming you aren't using them). If you are, then I find that somewhat odd because I could hear the kick just fine. By the way, the percussion stuff before the drops were pretty much layering clap fill samples and adding in some toms by me XP. Kind of lazy, but it sounded good and I can't really 100% make my own fills sound good yet. Plus, I'm not sure what kind of fill could work in our song (which I'd like some input on tomorrow). Anyways, thanks for the review! And I look forward to our collab releasing soon(er than later)!

I saw the word "jazz" and creamed in my pants.
I had seriously high expectations from a song that dares to categorize itself with some of my favorite songs of all time, and it absolutely fucking blew me away.
This whole song is amazing from start to finish. I heard a key change in there, I heard some sick syncopation in there, I heard some amazing piano parts, I heard some badass synths, just.. just THIS WHOLE SONG IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE. I. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT.

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

Wow uhm... well your review blew me away as well xD I wake up to see someone praising my songs like I'm a god and it makes me super happy <3

Thanks so much Hadoken!!!

I.
I have no words.
I look back at your Colors remix.. And then I look at this.
The improvement is PHENOMENAL. Keep up the amazing work, Zyz. Only God knows how far you'll go! <3

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

:D Thank you soooo much!!

This is so hot :o
I don't know how you do it, Joey. I don't know how you manage to make your music sound so perfect! A tremendous amount of talent is demanded by this skill, and you have no problem setting the bar higher and higher.
I look back at Jetstreamers, and then I look at your recent songs, and I just can't fathom how significantly you've improved, and I'm increasingly more eager to listen to whatever you have in store next!

Best Regards,
That one Annoying American~

KORAII responds:

eyyyy man thanks for the continued support despite the unfortunately minimal talking we do. pretty significant change its been since the geometry dash days, aye ;)

BRO!
DUDE!
BROSKI!
THIS IS AMAZING! The melodies, the harmonies, the chords, the mixing, the fades, the volumes, the mastering, the drops, the buildups, the key, the timbre, the EVERYTHING!!
If I would've known about this song prior to right now (and I only found it because someone used it in a YT video on the hardest GD levels of each difficulty), I would've made a level with this a long time ago!
If 2.1 isn't out by the 23rd, I'll use this for a level :3
If it isn't, I'll be using it in 2.1 anyways. This is amazing!!

DJ-Zyzyx responds:

Haha XD Thanks so much SirHadoken. Im glad you enjoyed it!! I'm really excited, because this will be the first time a famous creator even considers using my music O.o

btw, if you ever need help with making music, just contact me or something xD

Much luv,

Interesting.
The sounds you use for your melodies are pleasing to the ear, but some of them tend to run together. Also, the melodies are really varied, but you don't want to go too far out or people won't be able to remember them. The bass seems to kinda interrupt the melody, but I'd be a hypocrite if I elaborated on that. Also, you don't have to make your harmonies play notes exactly as your melodies do, it sounds tedious when that happens.
You're making progress, more so than I, but there are still elements of the song that could be tweaked on.

SI-7 responds:

I can't stand sounds that hurt my ears when trying to make something, since I have to listen to it over and over. I can see how it's muddled together. This was back when I just used my samples/plugins in a ton of diff baselines for everything, including the variations in the melody. No automation tracks or anything.. I used 15 different baselines for this track.

I haven't practiced making music in awhile, primarily because I got sick of trying to figure out how to work with the samples and stuff I had... with the exception of ZynAddSubFX, which is so complex I can't figure out hardly how to use it, and don't want to spend a few hundred hours learning it, so I just figured out how to get samples from the internet into my DAW. That was awhile after this, this is from back when I was still learning how to do reverb.

This is sacred, dude!
The mixing and mastering are phenomenal; the sounds are produced just perfectly; everything is in place.

KORAII responds:

thanks so much for the support man :D

Probably the best thing you've made so far. The mixing is perfect. The mastering is perfect. The sound productions are perfect. The percussion is perfect. The buildup is perfect. The growls are perfect. The blending of originality with the actual song is perfect. The sound effect placement is perfect.
MY BOOTY CAN'T HANDLE THE GLORIOUS GOODNESS.

KORAII responds:

LUL thx bb

Everything about this song brings chills from the tip of my head to the soles of my feet. The mixing, the mastering, the melodies, the composition, the flow, the transitions, all of it. I love it, I love it, I love it!
The vocal track blends so well with the track for the most part. Some places it's hard to hear what the man says; nevertheless, the presentation of the song as a whole is absolutely stunning, and the fading of the lyrics makes it that much more authentic.
Now, I'm no expert at making music; far from it, actually. My ratings may not mean much to the two of you, but you're getting 5 stars from me regardless!

Lockyn responds:

Hey man, your words mean a lot to us, don't say otherwise. :) I'm very happy you had that much to say - cheers mate!

I make silly EDM as SirHadoken, and more serious indie singer/songwriter music as DeFord.
I also help other musicians with the Geometry Dash whitelisting process.
